How have you been? Has the month of April been good to you? 🙂
In this past month of April, we had many different activities! We had our usual Malachi and Romans Bible studies! We also had a workshop on the theme of friends! And guess what, we learnt a new sport as well! This is… what you’ve been missing out if you haven’t been coming! We yearn for your fellowship dearly! But then again, God gives each and every one of us different vocations so remember to pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17). Don’t forget that you are in our prayers too!
We are now studying Romans chapter 13! And from that chapter, we have been learning about the calling of our magistrates (Government). God calls us to obey and submit to our earthly magistrates for He is the one who places them over us! Here is the key verse:
Romans 13:1-2 KJV
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
Isn’t that just amazing? Even the power of our earthly government comes from our Lord Jesus Christ! To add to that, do you know that we are called to pray for our earthly government as well!? We might think that there isn’t a need to for they aren’t Christians but you are wrong. We have to pray that their rulings and decisions will allow us Christians to go to Church each Lord’s Day to worship Him! How thankful we must be for that privilege of being in the Lord’s house week after week! Many are worshipping God in hiding but God still preserves His people as they undergo persecutions from this wicked world.
For the workshop, we touched on the topic of friendship! “Who should we be friends with” is the question! God revealed to us in His written Word that we ought not to have fellowship with the world (2 Cor 6:14-16)! But at the same time, we are called to live in it and serve in our various vocations alongside with our ungodly friends (John 17:14-19). We have to be careful and tactful with our “friendship” with our godless peers and at the same time not forgetting to be a good witness for our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for God’s grace for all things are possible through Him and Him alone!
Last but not least… We’ve learnt a new sport!! Can you guess the name of the sport from this picture?
TCHOUCHBALL!!! It was a rather simple and entertaining sports! Now we are ready to have our 5 v 5 tchouchball challenge =)
